HEALE Labs is a start-up company that provides blockchain-based logistics solutions.
They offer a network that tokenizes shipment data, identities, and assets along with Web3 technology for improving supply chain visibility and coordination. They also offer rewards for sharing accurate logistics data and tools for verifying locations, identities, ownership, and other shipment details.

My team and I worked with them to design product experiences for drivers and carriers, as well as a block explorer for increased visibility into shipments.

The transportation industry is facing multiple critical issues across its ecosystem.
Drivers struggle with low pay, high stress, and limited access to profitable jobs, leading to a concerning labor shortage as younger generations avoided the profession. Carriers deal with poor visibility into shipment information, resulting in wasted capacity, high coordination costs, and minimal profit margins of around 6%. This systemic inefficiency is compounded by carriers' reliance on third-party logistics providers and brokers to maintain full trucks and manage shipper communications.

We developed a three-pronged solution: a driver mobile app, a carrier web app, and a block explorer.
We began by defining detailed personas and user stories for drivers, carriers, and Web3 enthusiasts. The driver app focused on providing access to higher-paying jobs with instant delivery payments and incentives for valuable behaviors like on-time delivery and fuel efficiency. The carrier web app was designed to streamline shipment management and documentation. The visual identity balanced conventional UI elements with Web3 aesthetics, acknowledging their users' varying technical proficiency levels.

The resulting platform aimed to transform transportation logistics through integrated digital solutions.
For drivers, the mobile app would provide straightforward onboarding, essential dashboard features for managing pickups and deliveries, and clear payment tracking. Carriers would gain comprehensive load management capabilities, including dispatch controls, scheduling tools, and smart contract payment processing. The block explorer would offer visibility into available resources through an interactive map and analytics dashboard. This ecosystem was designed to be both powerful and accessible, maintaining familiar interface elements while incorporating cutting-edge blockchain technology to improve efficiency and profitability for all stakeholders.
